I was always taking photographs when I was younger. I still vividly remember my turquoise blue 110 Halina camera when I turned 9. The reason I loved that 110 was because I could just drop a film cartridge into it. I never quite mastered 35mm film loading, (quite a few of my dads rolls of film were ruined by me exposing them to light while trying to load them into the camera) which is probably why I never pursued photography any further. I ended up like most people just buying a small point & shoot camera or using my phone's camera.
In September 2012, whilst I was going through some turmoil in my life, someone lent me their camera for a week, to get me out in the fresh air & to help me relax. That was when I truly found myself & fell in love with photography.
Not only am I mum to two beautiful, intelligent daughters and to a rather hyperactive rescue dog called Charlie. I am a story teller, a painter of light, a woman who captures your story so that it never fades over time. Without you. I would simply be a landscape photographer, which is where I was headed until I started to photograph people...
It’s a feeling that I cannot put into words and I still get it every time I take a photograph of someone. It’s a feeling that I don’t think will ever go away – a feeling I want to last until I am no longer strong enough to hold a camera in my hands. In June 2016 I opened my first town centre studio, which has allowed me to create beautiful portraits. This is a milestone that I am extremely proud off and also extremely grateful for, as without the continued support from my family & my amazing customers I could never have achieved this goal.
One of my biggest achievements to date was when I was crowned Wedding Photographer of the Year 2017 by Mrs2Be.ie. This award will be held close to my heart for a long time as it was thanks to my lovely 2016 couples reviewing my work & their whole experience.
I feel extremely privileged being a part of your story and can’t wait to meet you to capture you own special moments.
