Wedding Photographer in Northern Ireland

Not at all. In fact, if you've just said that, you're probably exactly my kind of couple!

Very few of my couples arrive saying they love being in front of the camera. My job isn't to turn you into models. It's simply to help you feel comfortable enough to forget about the camera and enjoy spending time together.

Most couples tell me afterwards that taking the photographs was one of their favourite parts of the day.

Not at all.

The vast majority of your wedding day is photographed exactly as it unfolds. My role is to quietly observe, anticipate moments and tell the story of your day without constantly interrupting it.

The only time I'll gently take the lead is during your family photographs and your couple portraits. Even then, I'll give simple direction rather than stiff poses, helping you feel relaxed while still creating photographs you'll be proud to display for years to come.

Quite possibly, but don't worry if I haven't.

Every venue is different, but more importantly, every wedding is different. Rather than recreating the same photographs at every venue, I work with the light, the surroundings and, most importantly, the two of you.

Fresh eyes often create the most original photographs.

Absolutely.

Over the years I've had the privilege of photographing weddings of all faiths, mixed faiths, no faith, same sex couples, multicultural celebrations and families of every shape and size.

Every couple deserves to feel welcomed, respected and completely comfortable. My role is simply to create a space where you can relax, be yourselves and celebrate your day in whatever way feels right for you.

Every couple and every family is different. I'll always take the time to understand anything that will help your day feel more comfortable, whether that's allowing extra time, adapting family photographs, understanding sensory needs or simply recognising when someone needs a few quiet minutes away from the crowd.

There's never any judgement, only understanding.

Honestly... that's completely normal.

Children don't work to a timetable, and I would never expect them to.

Rather than forcing smiles or asking them to perform, I let children be themselves. Some of the most treasured photographs come from those natural moments, whether they're exploring, cuddling Mum and Dad or simply taking everything in.

Long before your wedding day, we'll work together to create a timeline that feels relaxed and realistic.

If I think something feels rushed, or I can suggest a way of giving you more time to actually enjoy your wedding day, I'll always tell you honestly.

As little as possible.

I never want beautiful photographs to come at the expense of the day you've spent months, or even years, planning.

We'll create gorgeous portraits, but I also want you to spend time laughing with your guests, enjoying your drinks reception and maybe even stealing a few quiet minutes together because... you've just got married!

Absolutely.

My standard coverage finishes at your dinner call, but many couples choose to add evening coverage to include their first dance and some of the evening celebrations.

We'll chat through your plans and choose the option that works best for your day.

Not at all.

While most couples choose full day coverage, I also offer two & three hour packages for intimate weddings, smaller celebrations and couples who simply don't need photography from morning preparations through to dinner.

Every wedding is different, so I'd much rather help you choose the coverage that suits your plans than expect every couple to fit into the same package.

Living in Northern Ireland means we always have to be prepared for a little rain!

Thankfully, some of my favourite wedding photographs have been taken in weather that wasn't quite what we'd planned.

We'll always have a Plan B, and if the weather clears later in the day we can often head back outside for a few extra portraits. Whatever happens, we'll make the very best of it.

And if the weather really doesn't play ball, don't worry. Years of working with off camera lighting means we can still create beautiful portraits indoors too

Every wedding has moments where emotions run high.

If I notice you're beginning to feel overwhelmed, I'll often suggest we slip away for a few quiet minutes while we capture some relaxed portraits. It gives you both a chance to pause, breathe and simply enjoy the fact that you've just got married.

Sometimes those few minutes become some of the most treasured memories of the entire day.

I hold full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance, giving both you and your venue complete peace of mind.

Thankfully, in over thirteen years of photographing weddings, I've never had to miss one through illness.

However, should the unexpected ever happen, I have an excellent network of trusted professional photographers across Northern Ireland who could step in if needed. I would remain involved wherever possible and ensure you were looked after throughout.

Thankfully, it's something I've never had to put into practice.

Your wedding photographs are irreplaceable, so protecting them is something I take incredibly seriously.

I photograph every wedding using professional cameras with dual memory card slots, meaning every image is written to two memory cards at exactly the same time.

When I arrive home, your photographs are backed up immediately. The original memory cards are then locked away in a fire resistant safe and aren't reused until your wedding has been fully edited and safely delivered.

Your memories are never stored in just one place.

I know how exciting those first few days after your wedding are, so I'll always send you a good selection of Sneaky Peek images as soon as possible.

That way you'll have something to relive and share with family and friends while I carefully edit the rest of your gallery.

Besides, I am way too excited to see what I captured of your day!
